acoustics that spans engineering, the natural, life and earth
sciences, and the arts.

The University has supported education and research in
acoustics since the 1930s and currently offers:

-Dozens of graduate courses, and several undergraduate courses,
devoted entirely or at least in part to topics in acoustics.

-Dozens of faculty and staff who have supervised graduate or
undergraduate student research in at least one branch of acoustics.

Study and research in acoustics at
the University benefit from its diverse

and consulting firms, and the widely
acclaimed Austin music scene.

UT Austin is one of the largest public universities in the United States
and is the largest institution of the University of Texas System.
Founded in 1883, the University has about 24,000 faculty and staff,
and more than 50,000 students.

ARL:UT is a University Affiliated Research Center (UARC) and has a long
history of excellence in the areas of sonar, GPS, and information science.

Acoustics Seminars are held most Fridays during fall and spring
semesters at 4:00 p.m. in ETC 4.150.

The ASA Student Chapter at UT Austin meets most Fridays during
fall and spring semesters at 3:00 p.m. in ETC 2.114.
